The objective of the work was to evaluate the effect of Alternaria alternata and A. dauci association in the quality of cilantro seeds inoculated under two methods: conidial suspension and hidric restriction. For the inoculation with suspension, was prepared a solution containing 106 conidia mL-1 of A. alternata, A. dauci and both species (A. alternata + A. dauci), in which the seeds remained for 30 minutes. For inoculation by hidric restriction, was prepared PDA medium, supplemented with 33.10 g L-1 of manitol, which grew in the colonies of A. alternata, A. dauci and A. alternata + A. dauci. The seeds were kept in the plates for 48 h. After the inoculation, the seeds quality was evaluated by laboratory and greenhouse tests. Alternaria alternata and A. dauci influence negatively the seed quality and seedling development and the two methods of inoculation were effective in contamination of coriander seed.
