Abstract

This study aims to perform the calibration of a set of parameters for the crop model Cropsim-Wheat, especially, those related to phenological development and yield. Field experimental data was obtained for a group of wheat cultivars adapted for cultivation in southern of Brazil. The field experiments were established in years 2010 and 2011, Passo Fundo, RS. Parameters were estimated to match final grain yield and phenological stages. The latter were double ridges, terminal spikelet, anthesis and physiological maturity. Calibration was achieved by searching the optimal set of parameters in a multidimensional parameter space. The results showed that the selected set of parameters values for the Cropsim-wheat model provide a faithful projection in terms of both plant development and final grain yield.
